US warship in Sydney to commemorate Great White Fleet

A US military destroyer has arrived in Sydney, exactly 100 years after the first American ship visited Australia.
Half a million Sydneysiders greeted the American Great White fleet on its arrival in Australia in 1908.
This time the 300 sailors on board the massive John S McCain, has been welcomed by the Royal Navy band playing Waltzing Matilda, and accompanied by two Australian warships, HMAS Darwin and HMAS Sirius, and a flotilla of vessels from the Royal Motor Yacht Club and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
