Boom for NW ports

Shiploads of Huon Valley baled veneer - currently exported from Hobart - would probably be exported via a Northern port if commercial operation at Hobart’s docks ceased, the Forest Industries Association of Tasmania said.
The State Government - pursuing a new $1 billion Royal Hobart Hospital on Macquarie Point - has been accused of trying to close down Hobart’s working port by stealth.
