Search for WWII ship Centaur being considered

A search for the sunken World War II hospital ship Centaur has moved a step closer with state and federal governments showing interest in seeing the mystery solved.

On May 12, 1943, the Centaur left Sydney bound for Port Moresby.

On board were 332 Australians including merchant navy crew, medical staff, army nurses, the 2/12 Field Ambulance and 44 others.
