Pleasure boat that fatally exploded 'was not registered'

A pleasure boat that exploded in the Yarra River, killing an elderly couple, was neither registered nor insured, the Coroner’s Court has been told.
And the owner of the vessel - the son of the couple killed in the deadly blast - was not licensed to drive a boat in Victoria.
Antony Elliott, 49, had collected his 1955 vintage Halvorsen timber cruiser only a few hours earlier and had just fuelled it at Pier 35 in Port Melbourne.
