Humpback whale sightings hit grand scale

From dawn to dusk, from Bondi to Bilgola, whale watchers were out in force yesterday for the annual whale census with 567 humpback sightings.
ORRCA president Ron Ling said he was “blown away” by the number of whales spotted, with the first sighting reported at Norah Head on the Central Coast at 6.30am.
“The last two weeks of June and first week of July are really the peak seasons for whales,” he said.
