Fines toughened for illegal fishing

The New South Wales Government says it will introduce new penalties to try to reduce the depletion of fishing stocks by illegal syndicates.
For the first time, illegal fishers could be made to pay additional fines of up to 10 times the value of their catch.
The State Government is also buying four extra patrol boats to target the syndicates.
