Whale takes a twilight Broadwater tour

A whale took an unexpected detour into the Broadwater yesterday afternoon, swimming into the busy channel through the Gold Coast Seaway.
Volunteer Marine Rescue crew member Robert Csukardy said the whale turned north in the waterway about 4.20pm, following a channel, then swam back to the ocean at 5.30pm.
“There has been a strong presence of whales lately, especially near the mouth of The Spit,” said Mr Csukardy.
