Sailor receives emergency help device after refusing to leave damaged yacht

A sailor on board a yacht drifting off the coast of Perth has been given an emergency device to call for assistance if his situation worsens.

The yachtsman on board the Fremantle registered Moonstar called for help on Friday night when his boat was damaged in bad weather.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority sent several boats and planes to help the man but he refused to leave his boat.
